The South Australian government is expected to step in to underwrite builder's warranty insurance after QBE withdrew due to high numbers of builder insolvencies. "From July 1 2013 when QBE cease to offer the builders' warranty insurance product, they'll act as an agent for the South Australian Government and effectively deliver an insurance product on our behalf for another 12 months, until we've determined where we want to go with this particular issue," Mr O'Brien told ABC radio.
